About the position

Axiom Technologies is seeking a part-time Desktop Support/Help Desk/Field Support/IT Consultant to provide onsite and on-call assistance to end-users within the organization's desktop computing environment. The role involves coordinating various activities, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring optimal service delivery to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite/on-call assistance to end-users in the desktop computing environment.
  • Install and troubleshoot desktop applications, including MS Office, O365, and Outlook.
  • Coordinate with various technical teams to resolve issues.
  • Keep track of asset transactions and maintain inventories.
  • Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Guide users through installing applications and computer peripherals.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and test alternative pathways to resolve issues.
  • Record technical issues and solutions in logs and create technical documentation.
  • Perform daily health checks and support for meeting room audio and video devices.
  • Install and configure new IT equipment and perform PC refreshes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of direct PC and Laptop hardware service experience.
  • Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role.
  • Skilled in desk side support and PC break/fix, including Windows O/S administration.
  • Basic knowledge of network devices and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Anti-spyware and Anti-Virus Software, SCCM, and basic server knowledge.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with clients and management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with systems and networks using deductive reasoning skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Apple devices and MAC OS.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
  • Good people skills and ability to work with deadlines.
