About the position

The Desktop Support Specialist role at MSC Cruises involves providing technical assistance primarily at the Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. The position focuses on installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, with a strong emphasis on supporting end users. The ideal candidate should possess strong MAC support skills and Windows desktop experience, along with a problem-solving attitude and the ability to communicate technical instructions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking issues
• Walk employees through installing applications and computer peripherals
• Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
• Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
• Conduct remote troubleshooting for at-home employees
• Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue
• Customize desktop applications to meet user needs
• Record technical issues and solutions in logs
• Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
• Maintain equipment inventory
• Travel flexibility to the Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role
• Hands-on experience with Mac OS and Windows environments
• Audio Visual experience, with Crestron experience being a plus
• Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
• Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
• Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
• Customer-oriented attitude
• BS in Computer Science or relevant field
