About the position

The Desktop Support Technician I role at GE Aerospace is a contract position focused on providing technical support to end users in a fast-paced environment. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining computer systems, and ensuring a high level of customer service through effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and replace PC/laptop hardware components such as motherboards, hard drives, RAM, and CPUs.
• Troubleshoot PC software issues including Windows blue-screens and Outlook connectivity problems.
• Support enterprise technologies including Office 365 and Windows 10 Professional.
• Repair, test, image, and clean PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, and other related hardware.
• Maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot software and computer peripherals.
• Setup, configure, and add all hardware as needed.
• Assist in large IMAC events for client printer migration and PC refreshes.
• Ensure all tickets requiring follow-up work receive appropriate attention.
• Provide in-person technical support to end users at the customer's site.
• Assist in developing and documenting improvements to current processes.

Requirements

• US Citizenship due to Export Control Government regulations.
• Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting PC hardware and software issues.
• Strong understanding of enterprise technologies such as Office 365 and Windows 10 Professional.
• Ability to manage stress and deescalate tense situations with users.
• Experience working in an enterprise environment and handling multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience supporting applications related to engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
• Experience with asset management and ticketing systems.
