About the position

The Client Technologies Technician position is a contract role focused on providing Tier 2 customer support for desktop computers and related technologies. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and supporting desktop applications and operating systems, as well as installing and maintaining computer hardware and software in both networked and standalone environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 customer support for desktop computers, printers, and scanners.
• Install, troubleshoot, and support desktop applications and operating systems, including Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
• Install and troubleshoot computer hardware and software, including personal computers and peripherals.
• Solve computer problems over the phone and troubleshoot PC-related issues.
• Provide support for Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Virtual Private Network (VPN) clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or four years of equivalent work experience.
• Two or more years of experience in Tier 2 customer support for desktop technologies.
• Experience with installing and troubleshooting desktop applications and operating systems.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and experience with imaging software for deploying PCs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with 3270 emulation software.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing hardware components such as hard drives and RAM.
• Experience working in a criminal justice agency and knowledge of IT standards in that environment.

Benefits

• Contract position with hourly pay ranging from $25 to $30.
