About the position

As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our organization's computer systems. You will be the first point of contact for any technical issues and will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems. Your main goal will be to ensure that our computer systems are running smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. As a Telecom Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the completion of monthly recurring manhole inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Respond to queries either in person, over the phone, or via email
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Experience deploying images to large batches of devices
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Windows Desktop certification
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software (e.g. Zendesk)
