About the position

The Destination Services Coordinator at Travel Oregon plays a crucial role in supporting the development and stewardship of vibrant destinations across the state. This position involves coordinating various projects and events that enhance visitor experiences while balancing tourism management and local community needs. The Coordinator will work closely with stakeholders, manage project tasks, and ensure effective communication and organization within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, compile documents, and maintain databases to support destination stewardship operations.
  • Coordinate and support production of workshops, meetings, conference calls, webinars, and events.
  • Capture and follow-up on action items identified in project and team meetings.
  • Schedule and support meetings and conference calls, including compiling and distributing agendas and taking minutes.
  • Support teams with securing facilities, catering, lodging, and supplies for events.
  • Track and organize details, communications, and partner participation using various software tools.
  • Support destination stewardship tracking and reporting, including data analysis and presentation creation.
  • Draft and support internal and external communications related to destination stewardship.
  • Manage small assigned projects, coordinating task completion across project teams.
  • Monitor project activities for compliance with program criteria and alignment with goals.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a professional business environment supporting public or community relations work, including project coordination.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with video and audio-conferencing platforms such as Zoom.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of project management best practices and conflict management.
  • Experience developing processes to support team organization and efficiency.
  • Ability to use project management and collaboration tools like Basecamp and Google Docs.
  • Skill in editing written communications and documents.
  • Experience in tourism, hospitality, or community engagement.
