About the position

The Detail Drafter position at Aerotek involves creating detailed drawings for air-cooled heat exchangers intended for shop fabrication. The role requires collaboration with mechanical design engineers and shop personnel to prepare comprehensive shop detail drawings, including various components such as bundle assemblies and platforms. The position emphasizes the importance of drafting skills, knowledge of fabrication practices, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Detail air-cooled heat exchangers for shop fabrication.
• Prepare shop detail drawings, including bundle assemblies, plenums, columns, ladders, and platforms.
• Communicate with mechanical design engineers and shop personnel.
• Demonstrate general knowledge of welded steel fabrication practices.
• Utilize drafting skills for 3D assembly and part modeling, 2D parts drawings, and flat patterns.

Requirements

• Certification with Fundamentals and Principles of CAD Design classes and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in heat exchanger and/or structural steel drafting.
• OR an Associate's degree in CAD Drafting and Design with a minimum of one (1) year experience in structural steel fabrication drafting.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with American Petroleum Institute 661 standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements regarding walkways, handrails, stairs, and equipment guards.
