About the position

The Detailer / Project Coordinator at Total Hardware is responsible for coordinating submittals for approval, managing construction documents, and ensuring timely communication with suppliers and vendors. This role is crucial in facilitating the fabrication of commercial doors, frames, and hardware, while also solving complex issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet project deadlines, contributing to the company's mission of building the skyline in southeastern Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating submittals for approval and reviewing/correcting approved submittals.
• Submitting orders to manufacturers for fabrication.
• Working with suppliers and vendors for product information, lead-times, and shipping details.
• Solving complex issues that may arise in a timely manner.
• Managing construction documents including contracts, submittals, transmittals, change orders, and close-out documents.
• Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and ensuring timely follow-up.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on detailing and/or project management experience in any industry.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient writing skills for correspondence and reports.
• Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to expedite complex projects and manage multiple assignments within time constraints.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with commercial doors, frames, and hardware.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 1+ years of previous experience in the construction industry.
• Understanding of building systems, design, construction, and related management strategies.
• Experience with NAV and ProTech software or comparable ERP and estimating software.
• Familiarity with reading construction drawings and specifications.
