About the position

S&S Transport is seeking a dedicated and self-driven individual to join their Fleet Maintenance team as a Detailer. The primary focus of this role is to detail semi-trucks, ensuring they are clean and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will be reliable, able to take direction from management, and possess detailing experience, although it is not strictly required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down doorjambs.
• Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
• Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
• Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
• Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, following product manufacturer's recommendations.
• Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as torn upholstery and other noticeable defects within the interior of the vehicle.
• Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
• Replaces missing or defective small parts.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Physical ability to stand for extended hours, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in automotive detailing is preferred.
