About the position

The Dancing Eagle Travel Center Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a retail environment. This part-time position involves greeting customers, processing transactions, preparing food, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the store. The clerk will also promote products and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while fostering a positive atmosphere for both customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Scan bar codes or enter prices into the cash register.
• Stock and rotate merchandise as needed.
• Take and prepare food orders according to customer specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness in service and dining areas.
• Operate a point of sale system and manage cash transactions.
• Perform custodial duties including cleaning and trash removal.
• Promote brands and products to increase sales.
• Assist customers in locating items and provide information about promotions.
• Train new retail clerks and assist with their onboarding.
• Build relationships with guests through meaningful interactions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Relevant work experience preferred, especially in cashiering and custodial roles.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Proficient in using a cash register and basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the food service industry.
• ServSafe certification (preferred but not mandatory).
