About the position

The Danvers Treatment Center is a detoxification program dedicated to providing 24-hour nursing care to individuals undergoing withdrawal from alcohol and/or other drugs. The Nurse (RN or LPN) position is crucial for those who wish to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction. This role involves not only monitoring patients' withdrawal symptoms but also providing essential medical and emotional support during one of the most critical stages of recovery. The center emphasizes a therapeutic environment where patients can feel safe and supported throughout their treatment journey. As a Detox Nurse, you will be responsible for recording and reporting all observed symptoms, reactions to treatments, and changes in patients' safety status. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide health information and maintain accurate medical records for clients. Responding to patient care needs and assisting them with daily living activities is a key part of your role, promoting a positive therapeutic environment. Additionally, you will assist with the admitting, discharge, and transfer processes, participate in treatment team meetings, and contribute to the development of individualized care plans. Administering medications to patients is also a critical responsibility of this position. This position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 and benefits that start on day one, making it an attractive opportunity for qualified candidates. The schedule consists of 40 hours per week on the second shift, allowing for a work-life balance while making a difference in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Records and reports all observed symptoms, reactions to treatments and changes in patients' safety status
  • Collaborates with team in providing health information and maintains clients' medical records
  • Responds to patient care needs/issues and assists patients with activities of daily living, promoting a positive therapeutic environment
  • Assists with the admitting, discharge and transfer process
  • Participates in treatment team meetings & assists with development of care plans
  • Administers medications to patients

Requirements

  • Valid and current Massachusetts licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Experience with addiction treatment services preferred, but not required
