About the position

The DevOps Architect position is a senior role focused on leading the design and implementation of AWS cloud solutions, VMware infrastructure, and DevSecOps services. The architect will drive product innovation and enhance core competencies while collaborating with various teams to ensure security and reliability in the development lifecycle. This role requires a dynamic professional with extensive experience in architecting enterprise-level networking operations and shared infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

• Architect global enterprise networking operations and shared infrastructure data center management on AWS and VMware.
• Understand gaps in current state architecture and prepare a blueprint for future state architecture in network infrastructure, security management, and shared infrastructure.
• Setup enterprise-level standards for network infrastructure and security standards.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures across the organization's networks, infrastructure, and applications.
• Consult with customers to accelerate their adoption of compute, network, storage, and security services.
• Guide the development of artifacts, data sheets, proof of concept best practices, and other high-value customer-facing guidance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, product owners, and stakeholders to integrate security and reliability requirements into the development lifecycle.
• Communicate updates on security and reliability initiatives to senior management and other departments.
• Promote an automation-first mindset in data center management, security management, infrastructure engineering, compliance reporting, and network automation.
• Advocate for DevOps/SRE/CI-CD/IAC best practices in network and infrastructure automation.
• Facilitate relationships with senior technical executives and provide guidance to software developers, IT operations staff, and system architects.
• Set clear goals and performance metrics for technical teams, conducting regular reviews and providing feedback.
• Work with customers' line-of-business owners to explore improvement areas and prioritize strong ROI business initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and engineering practices.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in DevOps and cloud architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins, Helm Charts, and Python/Groovy scripting.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, security management, and shared infrastructure.
• Experience in architecting enterprise-level networking operations and data center management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and technical teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Rancher-K8s, Containers, VMs, Kafka, Apache Flink/Spark, EDB PostgreSQL, Redis Cache, S3/Cloudian, and Apigee.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in the industry.
