About the position

As a DevOps Cloud Engineer at GDIT, you will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions to complex problems, focusing on application deployment and management in a cloud environment. Your role will involve automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services while ensuring system security and reliability. You will work closely with agile development teams and support USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC, contributing to the overall mission of enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Automate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.
• Manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency.
• Guide and manage software releases for new features.
• Troubleshoot system-related problems and ensure system security.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers.
• Remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in IT and/or software development.
• Experience in deploying applications in an Enterprise Cloud environment.
• In-depth understanding of DevOps methodologies and practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.
• Experience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-T and networking technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and OpenStack.
• Familiarity with automation/orchestration tools like Chef, Ansible, or BOSH.
• Understanding of systems monitoring and analytics tools such as Prometheus or Splunk.
• Background in Windows deployment and automation technologies.
