As a DevOps Cloud Engineer at GDIT, you will be tasked with delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges faced by our clients. You will be joining a team that supports USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC, where your contributions will help ensure safety today and intelligence for tomorrow. In this position, you will be responsible for managing distributed and managed services, automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services. You will also oversee system tuning for reliability and efficiency, guide software releases for new features, and support users through consolidation efforts. Your responsibilities will occasionally include the administrative operation of server hardware and software, ensuring system security, troubleshooting system-related problems, and staying current with technological developments. You will provide expertise in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance operating systems, making recommendations for future projects to management. To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in deploying applications in an Enterprise Cloud environment, with at least 5 years of IT and software experience. Your experience with Kubernetes, agile development teams, and various Continuous Integration tools will be crucial. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work in a mission-critical environment. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers, ensuring the team operates effectively and efficiently.
