About the position

As a DevOps/Cloud Engineer at Parts Town, you will play a crucial role in automating, optimizing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to ensure it is scalable, secure, and efficient. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, streamlining CI/CD pipelines, and enhancing cloud operations through automation and monitoring. You will work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new services and continuous delivery, while also maintaining high availability and disaster resilience. Your efforts will drive cloud cost optimization, enforce security compliance, and mentor teams on DevOps best practices. A typical day in this role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth integration and deployment processes. You will develop and manage scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform and Ansible, and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security, including capacity planning and disaster recovery. Additionally, you will manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient orchestration and scaling. Monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure using advanced logging and monitoring tools will be essential, as will collaborating with development teams to implement microservices and event-driven architectures that align with DevOps principles. You will also lead efforts to enforce cloud security practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance with organizational standards. Evangelizing the DevOps culture across the organization will be a key part of your role, providing training and support to teams on best practices and tooling. Responsibilities

  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security, including capacity planning and disaster recovery.
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient orchestration and scaling.
  • Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure using advanced logging and monitoring tools, setting up alerts and ensuring rapid incident response.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement microservices and event-driven architectures that align with DevOps principles.
  • Lead efforts to enforce cloud security practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Evangelize DevOps culture across the organization, providing training and support to teams on best practices and tooling.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with cloud platforms, with a strong focus on Azure, and experience with AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipeline automation, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Packer, with a focus on modular and reusable code.
  • Hands-on with containerization and orchestration tools, especially Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster administration.
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, load balancing, and security configurations.
  • Experienced in cloud security, including IAM, encryption, and security group management, as well as familiarity with SAST/DAST tools.
  • Proficient in cloud monitoring and logging tools, such as ELK Stack, Datadog, and New Relic, for proactive infrastructure management.
  • Strong background in configuration management, secrets management, and ITSM practices (Change, Knowledge & Incident Management).
