About the position

The DevOps & Cloud Manager at Direct Care Innovations (DCI) will lead a team of engineers to ensure the efficient functioning of the company's Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans for the Cloud & DevOps Operations department, managing continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team. The manager will also be responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of the cloud infrastructure while staying updated with industry trends to enhance system performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to manage Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Cloud & DevOps Operations department.
• Manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and other tools.
• Hire, mentor, and build a high-performing team of cloud and DevOps engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of cloud infrastructure and application development processes.
• Ensure security, reliability, and scalability of the cloud infrastructure through monitoring and optimization.
• Design and implement a zero-downtime deployment strategy for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Stay updated with industry trends to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders for project delivery and issue resolution.
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain documentation and training materials for knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Participate in the IT On-Call rotation.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years' experience managing cloud-based infrastructure.
• 4+ years' experience utilizing at least one scripting language, preferably PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• At least 2 years of experience managing a leading Cloud Services environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding of Zero Downtime Deployment strategies, including Canary and Blue/Green Deployments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinker and problem-solver.
• Good time-management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Azure CSP subscriptions.
• Experience with Redis Service Bus, Azure SQL, and Azure Active Directory.
• Knowledge of Atlassian Products (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.).
• Experience with Virtual Networking, Security, and Firewalls.
