About the position

Kellton Tech is seeking a highly skilled Sr. DevOps Engineer with over 12 years of experience to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This position is a 6+ month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and digital leadership, along with business acumen, particularly in the healthcare and food services sectors. The role requires a proactive approach to managing enterprise application runtime environments, collaborating with both onshore and offshore resources to ensure optimal performance and reliability. In this role, you will take a lead position in managing incidents and problems related to runtime environments, which includes problem detection, root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures. You will be responsible for managing infrastructure using Cloud Formation and other Infrastructure as Code (IAC) technologies, as well as developing and managing automated delivery pipelines utilizing Azure DevOps (ADO). Your expertise in AWS Cloud services will be crucial for managing healthcare-related applications, and you will work closely with architects to implement the latest runtime technologies and environment management strategies. Continuous learning is essential in this position, as you will need to stay updated with the latest cloud and DevOps technologies and best practices. You will ensure that our environments and pipelines align with architectural and security policies and standards. The role also involves working in a greenfield environment, where you will face new challenges and collaborate with architects on proof of concepts (POCs) for new tools, platforms, and technologies. Responsibilities

  • Work with on and offshore resources to manage enterprise application runtime environments
  • Take a lead role in managing incidents and problems with runtime environments, including problem detection, root cause analysis and prevention
  • Manage infrastructure with Cloud Formation and other IAC technologies
  • Develop and manage automated delivery pipelines using ADO
  • Manage AWS Cloud services for Healthcare related applications
  • Work with Architects to implement the latest runtime technologies and env management strategies and standards
  • Continuous learning to stay updated with the latest cloud and DevOps technologies and best practices
  • Ensure that our environments and pipelines alignment with architectural and security policies and standards
  • Comfortable working in a greenfield environment to attempt new challenges
  • Work with architects on POCs of new tools, platforms, and technologies

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer, or related disciplines such as Middleware, System or Software engineering
  • Proficient in understanding and using modern Cloud, DevOps and Microservice technologies and practices
  • In depth knowledge of managing AWS Services - Certified AWS DevOps engineer is a plus
  • Proficiency in scripting such as Python or Bash for automating deployment and infrastructure activities
  • Experience with version control management such as Git
  • Experience managing Container technologies such as Docker and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, or Fargate
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience in modern Agile processes with regard to working on sprints to build infrastructure, manage releases and deploy changes
  • Team player, must work well with others, have the ability to manage expectations
  • Experience working with HIPAA, PHI and other healthcare standards a plus
