About the position

Ardent Principles is seeking a full-time DevOps Engineer/Cloud Engineer to enhance software in a service-based architecture. The role focuses on supporting data engineering efforts and collaborating within a team to deliver innovative solutions. Responsibilities

  • Developing and using REST web services
  • Providing DevOps support for systems engineering
  • Working with ElasticSearch
  • Utilizing AWS services including S3, EBS, and EC
  • Automating platform and application deployment
  • Managing cloud deployment, DevOps, containerization, and API management
  • Configuring cloud databases, storage, virtualization, and networks
  • Implementing DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines for a multi-tenant environment
  • Incorporating automated software quality checks and security scanning
  • Working within cloud computing environments and Linux/Unix-based systems
  • Using requirements tracking programs like JIRA or Confluence
  • Maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and managing software, hardware, and networks
  • Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems and application software
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

  • Experience with developing and using REST web services
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering DevOps support
  • Proficiency in working with ElasticSearch
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, EBS, and EC
  • Knowledge of automated deployment processes
  • Experience in cloud deployment and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with containerization and API management
  • Experience with cloud databases and network configurations
  • Knowledge of implementing DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with automated software quality checks and security scanning
  • Proficiency in Linux and Unix-based operating systems
  • Experience with requirements tracking programs such as JIRA or Confluence
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot software, hardware, and networks
  • Experience in installing and configuring operating systems and application software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with big data processing and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and HBase
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Knowledge of managing IT security vulnerabilities
  • Experience applying FISMA security controls
  • Ability to document and communicate technical requirements

  • Background in programming and software tools
  • Experience managing software applications in multi-cloud environments
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Ability to assess project requirements and make technical recommendations
  • Experience developing scripts on Linux platforms
  • Knowledge of SQL-based databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL
  • Experience writing and tuning complex queries
  • Ability to develop secure and scalable REST APIs
  • Experience integrating services using messaging technologies
