About the position

KeyLogic Systems is seeking a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. This position involves working collaboratively with software developers to deploy and operate our systems, while also helping to automate and streamline operations and processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, testing, and production environments. A strong background in Linux/Unix Administration is essential, along with experience in automation and configuration management using tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. The role requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services, as well as a working understanding of coding and scripting languages including PHP, Python, Perl, and Ruby. In addition to these technical skills, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for configuring and maintaining various ServiceNow modules, developing record producers, and automating ticket management processes. This role will also support the integration of existing applications and contribute to enhancing our service delivery capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ServiceNow system administration and automation, with proficiency in PowerShell scripting and REST API integration. The position requires a proactive approach to managing IT service management solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes. The DevOps Engineer will also apply project management expertise to plan, execute, and deliver complex initiatives on time and within scope, while effectively managing resources and stakeholder expectations. Clear and consistent communication with stakeholders is crucial, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and any issues that arise. Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, manage, and support Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers in a VMware environment.
  • Manage OS patching schedules for the servers supported by the team.
  • Design, implement, and manage IT service management solutions using ServiceNow.
  • Configure and maintain ServiceNow modules, including Incident Management, Change Management, and Service Catalog.
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow Platform Admins to create and modify workflows, portals, and knowledge bases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
  • Apply project management expertise to deliver complex initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status and issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage support, configuration, and patching of remote services.
  • Engage enterprise support to ensure uptime of services.
  • Manage scripting and coding projects using CI/CD tools like GitLab and GitHub.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for ServiceNow automation, including ticket creation and field updates.
  • Leverage REST APIs and JSON to develop integrations between software tooling and environments.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience related to IT operations, IT Service Management, and System Administration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or six years of additional related experience, or an Associate's Degree plus three years of additional related experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance.
  • Proven experience in scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Proven experience with relational databases and reporting metrics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, ServiceNow, or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of ITSM best practices.
