Forward Slope currently has a full-time position for a DevOps Engineer to join our Software Solutions Team. This position is a hybrid position and the ideal candidate will be required to be onsite in San Diego, as needed. Typically, on-site work will be 3 days per week. This position has the option to work a 9/80 schedule, which is a compressed work schedule, with alternate Fridays off. As a DevOps Engineer, you will design and implement innovative technologies for automating, integrating, and delivering containerized web applications and services for the Department of Defense (DoD). Day-to-day efforts include working with highly talented professionals and subject matter experts to design, implement, and sustain mission-critical software systems that provide US Navy warfighters with the tools and resources for successfully planning and executing missions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative technologies for automating, integrating, and delivering containerized web applications and services for the Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Work with highly talented professionals and subject matter experts to design, implement, and sustain mission-critical software systems for US Navy warfighters.

Requirements

  • Currently hold an active U.S. security clearance or be able to obtain one
  • CompTIA Security+ Certified
  • Demonstrated 2-5 years DevOps experience with:
  • Containerization (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher)
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (i.e., Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • CI/CD automation tools (i.e., GitLab, Jenkins, AWS Code Build, Azure Pipelines)
  • Linux operating systems (i.e., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Automation and Scripting (i.e., Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Cyber security practices (i.e., Active Directory, HBSS, etc.)

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud computing infrastructure or development (i.e., AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Full-stack software development (i.e., Java, .NET, JavaScript, SQL)
  • Utilizing Atlassian suite or equivalent (i.e., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
