About the position

As a DevOps Engineer II at Businessolver, you will play a crucial role in supporting applications and users on a daily basis. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting user issues, managing CI/CD pipelines, addressing scripting issues, and overseeing cloud services. You will be expected to review system and application logs to ensure the completion of automated processes, which is vital for maintaining operational efficiency. Additionally, you will engage in ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization as required to enhance system performance and reliability. In this position, you will collaborate with project teams to document and deploy new projects, ensuring that all deployments meet the established standards and operational requirements. You will also be responsible for provisioning and configuring cloud infrastructure, services, and storage, which is essential for supporting the company's SaaS platform. Your role will involve researching, developing, and implementing innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks, which will contribute to the overall efficiency of the organization. Moreover, you will maintain and contribute to the knowledge base and documentation, which is critical for knowledge sharing within the team. You will have the opportunity to influence broader technology groups in adopting cloud technologies, processes, and best practices, thereby enhancing the company's technological capabilities. Your creative thinking and problem-solving skills will be essential in proposing solutions that not only meet technical requirements but also delight our clients. Responsibilities

  • Perform daily support for applications and users.
  • Troubleshoot user issues, CICD pipelines, scripting issues, and cloud services.
  • Review system and application logs, and verify completion of automated processes.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Work with project teams to document and deploy new projects.
  • Provision and configure cloud infrastructure, services, and storage in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Research, develop, and implement innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Maintain and contribute to our knowledge base and documentation.
  • Influence broader technology groups in adopting Cloud technologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Propose creative solutions to grow the business by delighting clients.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree.
  • 4+ years of Linux systems administration and configuration experience.
  • Strong scripting skills - Python / Bash preferred.
  • 2+ years of cloud experience - AWS preferred (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, IAM and CloudWatch).
  • 2+ years of experience with Gitlab/Github/Bitbucket or similar code management/deployment technologies.
  • Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of automating infrastructure builds utilizing tools such as Cloudformation, AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Ansible or Puppet.
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools such as AWS Fargate.
  • Highly motivated, innovative, self-directed thinker with an eagerness to stay up to date with current trends and a desire to impress.
