About the position

The DevOps Engineer II at One Call Medical, Inc. plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of our build and deployment processes, as well as managing our public and private cloud infrastructure. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and are eager to contribute to a mission-driven organization that prioritizes getting people the care they need when they need it. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in DevOps practices and will be responsible for troubleshooting code, resolving coding issues, and serving as a liaison between application development teams and operational infrastructure teams. This role requires a proactive approach to anticipating system needs to ensure the availability and scalability of systems, as well as coordinating the release of new or revised software or systems while monitoring their performance. In this intermediate-level role, the DevOps Engineer II will utilize various tools, including Application Performance Monitoring (APM), to monitor production systems, remediate production issues, and implement performance and cost improvements. The engineer will also identify capacity and performance issues to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure that pre-production environments are built and managed effectively. A significant aspect of this role involves driving DevOps automation and containerization strategies that align with established DevOps principles and standards. The engineer will plan, design, test, and deliver applications and infrastructure using a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) model, showcasing hands-on automation skills in designing and building pipelines, automation, containers, and Infrastructure as Code for enterprise applications. The position requires extensive experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and scripting/automation development, including PowerShell, Python, and YAML. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Resource Management (ARM) templates is also essential. The DevOps Engineer II will engage with information security to enhance the CI/CD framework with DevSecOps practices and standardized security tools and controls. Quality control is paramount, and the engineer will enforce quality gates throughout the build, test, and deploy processes, ensuring that all deliverables meet the established Definition of Ready and Definition of Done criteria. This role also involves collaboration on the CI/CD roadmap, performing health assessments on existing pipelines, and documenting services and processes to maintain clarity and efficiency in operations.
