About the position

As a DevOps Engineer at Booz Allen, you will play a crucial role in developing, managing, and securing a container platform that meets the needs of our clients while leveraging cloud capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to create container management software that addresses some of the most challenging issues faced by our clients. In this position, you will have the opportunity to enhance your technical skills by working with the latest cloud technologies, focusing on improving client environments through current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. You will utilize your knowledge of DevOps platforms to support your team in informing strategy and design, ensuring that all standards are adhered to throughout the containerization process. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with your team to recommend resources that will assist clients in managing and securely adopting containers. This role not only allows you to gain valuable DevOps skills and experience but also enables you to contribute to the development of critical cloud platforms that make a positive impact. Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage container management software to solve client challenges.
  • Support the development of critical cloud platforms using DevOps practices.
  • Automate builds, testing, monitoring, and releases across environments.
  • Ensure standards are met throughout the containerization process.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to create solutions to complex problems.
  • Recommend resources for clients to manage and securely adopt containers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in developing tools and processes for DevOps or DevSecOps maturity.
  • 3+ years of experience with OOP scripting or programming languages.
  • 3+ years of experience automating CI/CD pipelines.
  • 3+ years of experience with configuration management tools.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile team tools such as Jira, Confluence, or GitLab.
  • 3+ years of experience in C++ software development for Linux and Windows.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in DevOps in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience hosting applications on commercial cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with containerization tools, including Docker.
  • Experience with C++ dependency management tools such as Vcpkg or Conan.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Linux Shell Script.
  • Knowledge of creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks.
  • Knowledge of triaging and resolving issues related to open source and commercial tools in public cloud environments.
