About the position

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join an outstanding and highly motivated team of experts, to perform cloud environment management, continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment based on Kubernetes architecture, and to support our applications of software. This position is on-site and located at our HQ in San Diego, CA. No Remote or Hybrid availability will be offered. The ideal candidate will work closely with application developers to automate and accelerate the testing, release, and deployment of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. This role also involves supporting and troubleshooting enterprise-level applications, resolving complex issues, and driving technical resolution across cross-functional organizations. In addition, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for creating prototypes of software tools and presenting them to a team of developers for implementation. Proficiency in programming in a high-level language such as Python, C#, Ruby, Java, or other languages is essential for scripting installation, configuration, and provisioning. The role requires integrating security measures with software processes to ensure that updates do not create any vulnerabilities. Establishing and employing Continuous Integration practices and tools such as Jenkins or other CI tools is a key responsibility, along with providing Continuous Delivery solutions in a cloud environment and having experience with the core suite of tools used to manage different cloud providers. The successful candidate will employ industry Continuous Delivery patterns and work collaboratively with other team members to achieve successful continuous delivery solutions. Clear communication is vital, as the engineer will need to explain solutions to solve complex problems and impart knowledge effectively to junior resources and other team members. Additionally, the role involves facilitating communication between business users, software development, and IT operations to ensure speedy deliveries of high-quality applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work with application developers to automate and accelerate the testing, release, and deployment of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 5+ years' working with programming languages such as C#, Angular, or JavaScript
  • 3+ years' experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, application development, or operations
  • 2+ years' experience working with Azure Cloud technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Python, or Azure Analysis Service (AAS)
  • Familiarity with enterprise data center technologies including storage platforms, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center
