About the position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. This role is pivotal in supporting critical programs related to national defense and security. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that enable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of software applications. You will work closely with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff to manage code releases and ensure that the development and production environments are stable and efficient. In this position, you will leverage your expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and configuration management to streamline operations and improve system reliability. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, test, and production environments. Your role will require you to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure that MTSI remains at the forefront of innovation in the defense sector. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software applications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth code releases and deployments.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Automate system configurations and deployments using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in development and production environments.
  • Implement security best practices in the DevOps processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance DevOps practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies or DevOps practices.
