About the position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the infrastructure and tools that support our software development and deployment processes. You will work closely with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff to oversee code releases, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding. Your expertise will help streamline our operations and improve the efficiency of our development processes. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be expected to design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automate processes, and ensure the reliability and performance of our systems. You will also be involved in monitoring and maintaining the infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance. Your role will require you to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure that our systems are secure and efficient. Responsibilities

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment processes.
• Collaborate with software developers and IT staff to oversee code releases.
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software deployment and infrastructure.
• Optimize performance of systems and processes to improve efficiency.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to enhance system security and efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and practices.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.) and version control systems (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
