About the position

Peraton is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Federal Strategic Cyber program in Arlington, VA. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, implementing containerization strategies, and collaborating with development teams to enhance the software development lifecycle. The position requires a strong focus on security best practices and the ability to troubleshoot issues across various environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using industry best practices.
  • Implement and manage containerization strategies using OpenShift/Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines into the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Automate infrastructure and application deployment processes.
  • Ensure security best practices are implemented throughout all DevOps procedures.
  • Promote and train DevOps principles to fellow teammates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years related technical experience required.
  • Proven experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of containerization principles (Docker, Podman, etc.).
  • Experience with configuring and managing CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with leveraging benefits of security products within DevSecOps workflow.
  • Experience interfacing with clients, technical support personnel, and other technical professionals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAFe Agile testing environments.
  • Experience using GitLab runners, OpenShift BuildConfigs, and/or OpenShift configurations that aid in continuous integration and continuous deployment models.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $112,000 - $179,000 based on experience and other factors.
