About the position

Kforce's client in Austin, TX is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team. This company is a global enterprise software provider that specializes in modern financial advisor and client interactions. They leverage financial education, complex calculations, and deep personalization to enhance client engagement. Their clientele includes many of the world's leading banks, private banks, wealth management firms, life and annuity companies, and employee benefit providers. The ideal candidate will be able to accommodate an in-office work schedule and should be located near the Austin, TX office. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for proposing, designing, and developing new DevOps projects. You will develop tools, such as dashboards, to continuously improve the maintainability, monitoring, security, and scalability of production environments, which currently consist of more than 10 separate production environments. Your role will also involve coordinating and performing periodic maintenance of all test and production AWS deployments, including image updates and disaster recovery tests. You will be expected to develop expertise in the current deployment solution and continually design enhancements. The technologies you will work with include EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, VPC, CloudFormation, Route53, WAF, Jenkins, DataDog, Tomcat, Apache, Ansible, MySQL, and Redis. Additionally, you will set up and maintain internal DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Git, and you may occasionally be on-call as part of the DevOps team rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Propose, design, and develop new DevOps projects
  • Develop tools (e.g. dashboards) to continuously improve maintainability, monitoring, security, and scalability of production environments
  • Coordinate and perform periodic maintenance of all test and production AWS deployments
  • Develop expertise in the current deployment solution and continually design enhancements
  • Setup and maintain internal DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Git
  • Occasionally be on-call as part of DevOps team rotation

Requirements

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Experience as a Linux system or DevOps Engineer
  • Automation scripting language experience (Python+, Bash, Groovy)
  • Expertise with virtualization technology and methods
  • Experience maintaining production web deployments
  • Configuration management experience (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Self-starter who takes initiative
  • Cloud computing administration - Amazon AWS preferred
  • Jenkins experience
  • Database experience - MySQL, Redis etc.
  • Load balancing and networking (HTTP, SSL, etc.) experience
  • Web and application security experience
  • Experience or familiarity with Java application servers and servlet containers
