About the position

The DevOps Engineer position at SURVICE Engineering involves supporting the Aberdeen Research Operation by working with a multidisciplinary team to enhance and automate data flow related to materials synthesis and testing. The role focuses on optimizing data extraction and analysis, developing workflow automation methods, and integrating software solutions within the defense community.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multidisciplinary team of ARL experimental, theoretical, and computational scientists.
• Coordinate communication, integration, and automation of data flow pertaining to experimental and computational procedures.
• Optimize extraction, analysis, and preparation of data related to materials.
• Support the expansion and maintenance of an existing materials database and develop methods for rapid data import.
• Develop methods for workflow automation.
• Program robotic systems and lab automation equipment.
• Train, evaluate, validate, and monitor AI/ML models.
• Perform software development and oversee software integration, version control, testing, and deployment.
• Interface with software engineers in various labs to transition cutting-edge tools for use at ARL.
• Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Math Concentration and 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Practical experience in software engineering.
• Proficient in using Python.
• Familiar with AI/ML models.
• Experience in communicating results through reports and presentations.
• Experience with Robotics and Mechatronics.
