About the position

The DevOps Engineer position focuses on providing L3 support for DevOps tools and infrastructure. The role requires expertise in various technologies including Kubernetes, Jenkins, and scripting languages, with a strong emphasis on automation and site reliability. The engineer will work closely with development teams to enhance processes and ensure effective deployment and monitoring of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for change creation and release deployments
  • Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure on both VM and ECS
  • Act as a liaison with hardware and cloud procurement for all infrastructure needs
  • Improve site reliability and application monitoring
  • Understand the needs of stakeholders and convey this to developers
  • Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Facilitate development team with innovative ways to resolve cybersecurity threats during the development cycle
  • Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes
  • Automate daily routine infra-activities
  • Update knowledge base and skillsets with emerging technologies and provide advice for best use in the tech stack.

Requirements

  • 5 years in DevOps and/or infrastructure builds familiar with cloud infrastructure as well as VM based infrastructure
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Openshift for cloud orchestration
  • Proficiency in Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Shell, or Python
  • Familiarity with Websphere Application Server, Springboot, and MQ
  • Experience with Servicenow, Bitbucket, Teamcity, JIRA, SONAR, Confluence, uDeploy, and Autosys
  • Knowledge of CI/CD automation techniques
  • Experience with ORAAS, MAAS, KAAS, and Oracle infrastructure setup
  • Good knowledge of Tomcat and Apache web stack configuration
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and NewRelic
  • Experience with ELK, Logstash, Graylog, and Splunk for logs monitoring is a plus
  • Knowledge of 3DNS Load Balancers is a plus
  • Certification as a Python Certified Associate in programming.
