About the position

The DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in partnering with product and business teams to ensure high-quality product development and release into production. This position focuses on evolving a DevOps culture that supports continuous operations and meets critical service level metrics, customer requirements, and financial objectives. The engineer will be responsible for building sustainable DevOps functions, enhancing platform availability, and implementing automation to improve system health and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Business team members to ensure high quality product development and release into production.
  • Work closely with Architecture, Stakeholders, Operations Partners, and Business Product teams to specify and refine solutions and practices.
  • Evolve a DevOps culture to provide high quality, continuous operations, and ongoing support.
  • Drive modernization efforts for clients to release small incremental changes to production at a faster pace.
  • Build tools for automation and proactive/predictive alerts using data analytics.
  • Improve system health through self-healing, resiliency, and continuous feedback mechanisms.
  • Instrument Application Performance Monitoring (APM) in production and non-production environments with dashboards and key performance indicators.
  • Implement comprehensive service monitoring to ensure uptime and performance.
  • Define, measure, and meet key service level objectives including availability and performance.
  • Ensure robust capacity planning models are defined and regularly measure customer site performance.
  • Own end-to-end availability and performance of critical platform services and automate responses to non-exceptional service conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree or directly relevant professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in delivering solutions using Software Development Life Cycle.
  • 5+ years' experience working with complex SQL queries, AWS, and Unix environments.
  • Proven experience with operational and organizational management, team leadership, and enterprise-wide technology strategy.
  • Good interpersonal and collaboration skills with strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience working with AWS, Python, and Java.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail in documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with coding, scripting, and automating using Groovy, Ansible, Selenium, Vgen, and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins and Spinnaker tools.
  • Experience with code quality and security scanning tools such as Fortify, Checkmarx, and SonarQube.
  • Familiarity with code and release management tools like Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD, Helm, and Jira.
