About the position

Dodge Construction Network is seeking a DevOps Engineer to manage the deployment, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and security of systems. This full-time remote position is crucial for ensuring the delivery of products and services to customers, while also enhancing system performance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Dodge can deliver its products and services to customers by deploying and monitoring network, security, and infrastructure systems.
  • Maintain and enhance system and application monitoring, alerting, and logging mechanisms.
  • Monitor application and infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.
  • Work closely with development teams to improve application architecture for scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms.
  • Provide training and support for employees and customers.
  • Monitor and oversee that all infrastructure environments stay safe and secure.
  • Maintain and update any software and hardware where necessary.
  • Document all reported malfunctions and actions taken in response.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure coverage for customers and security.
  • Drive additional functions related to location (i.e., tape rotations, local infrastructure).
  • Make decisions regarding the health of the network, infrastructure, cost, and security.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a DevOps or SRE role, with a focus on tooling, automation, and distributed systems development.
  • 2+ years scripting with Python/Shell, or Bash.
  • 2+ years in configuration management such as Ansible.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
  • Ability to work effectively in an independent, remote environment.
  • Experience architecting, designing, and implementing deployments in AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience with Application and Infrastructure monitoring using SumoLogic, Splunk, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, or similar.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, git, and similar strongly desired.
  • Experience with IAM roles/policies/permissions and security groups.
  • Solid foundation of networking, Linux and Windows.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
