The DevOps Engineer position is a permanent role based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, requiring an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph. The role involves a hybrid work schedule, with one day of remote work and four days of onsite work each week. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and deploying distributed web applications, utilizing various tools and technologies to ensure efficient operations and development processes. This position is critical in supporting the organization's infrastructure and development needs, ensuring that systems are robust, scalable, and secure. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with development and operations teams to streamline processes and improve deployment pipelines. This includes scripting and automation using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, as well as containerization technologies like Docker and Docker Compose. The role requires a thorough understanding of cloud environments, particularly AWS, and experience with virtual machines and various deployment strategies. The engineer will also be involved in maintaining and configuring systems, ensuring that they meet the organization's standards and requirements. In addition to technical skills, the position demands a collaborative mindset, as the engineer will be part of an agile team, utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence for project management and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both development and operations, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across the technology stack.
