About the position

As a DevOps Engineer at OpenEye, you will play a crucial role in managing our AWS cloud environment, ensuring the seamless release and deployment of software, and maintaining the overall health of our systems. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with developers and other DevOps team members to test system integrity, design and implement build and deployment processes, and manage configuration standards. You will also be tasked with building and testing automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, handling code deployments across various environments, and monitoring system metrics to identify areas for improvement. In this position, you will provide technical guidance and education to team members, fostering a collaborative environment where brainstorming and idea sharing are encouraged. You will document and design various processes, update existing workflows, and manage CI/CD tools to streamline development delivery. Your role will require a solid understanding of development practices, particularly within the .NET framework, as well as proficiency in scripting languages and other programming languages such as C#, Java, or C++. Responsibilities

  • Work with developers and other DevOps to test system integrity.
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management processes.
  • Test implemented designs and build automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Handle code deployments in all environments and monitor metrics to develop improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members on development and operations.
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery.
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages.
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards.
  • Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects.
  • Manage CI and CD tools with the team.
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-5 years related experience and/or training.
  • Expertise in a scripting language and/or C#, Java, or C++ development language.
  • Solid understanding of development practices including the .NET framework and TCP/IP network protocols.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and practices.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong quality ethic and test-first attitude.
  • Great communication and teamwork skills.
