About the position

The DevOps Engineer at Base-2 Solutions, LLC is responsible for designing and defining the DevSecOps architecture for IT systems, ensuring secure and efficient deployment of applications. This role requires a blend of coding skills and traditional operations knowledge, focusing on system development, configuration management, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and define the DevSecOps architecture for IT systems.
• Write clean, working code and manage traditional operations tasks.
• Coordinate system development including design, modeling, security, integration, and testing.
• Manage and document system configurations.
• Assist with the deployment of new product features.
• Configure CI/CD for multiple web applications.
• Perform application builds using source code and dependencies.
• Conduct automated testing and security scans.
• Deploy applications to multiple environments (Dev, Staging, Operations).
• Manage Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
• Author helm charts for resource deployment to OpenShift.
• Document system security and perform software updates in response to scan findings.

Requirements

• 5-8+ years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, or related field, or 3 additional years of experience in IT.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar).
• Ability to manage networking for web applications (PCP/IP, DNS, load balancing).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and OpenShift, with knowledge of AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.).
• Knowledge of containerization, monitoring & logging, and network & security.
• Experience deploying and managing databases, interacting with databases via SQL and ORMs.
• Comfortable using Python and BASH for systems tooling.
• Experience with software system design and application architecture.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Configuration Management and Request for Change process.
• Experience with Agile software delivery techniques.
• Technical certification (Network +, Security +, Oracle, or specializing in Software Development or Cloud Computing).
• Experience in System Engineering and project/program management.
• Knowledge of NGA enterprise products.
