About the position

The DevOps Engineer at Propio Language Services will be responsible for managing and enhancing the company's Cloud infrastructure, which has seen significant growth. This role involves deploying applications, implementing DevOps methodologies, and architecting solutions to optimize the cloud environment. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and support the company's development strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize AWS Services in day-to-day operations, ensuring the security and reliability of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy applications and services across various environments, including Linux, Windows, iOS, and Android.
  • Collaborate with team members to explore, evaluate, and implement emerging DevOps technologies, such as Docker, Terraform Enterprise (TFE), and AWS CloudFormation, enhancing our infrastructure automation and deployment processes.
  • Develop and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) solutions within the AWS environment.
  • Engineer automation and deployment tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Work as a key contributor in an agile environment, contributing to the architectural design and success criteria of solutions.
  • Push the boundaries of OpenStack, Object Store, and AWS APIs to optimize application performance and scalability.
  • Thrive in high-pressure situations, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the team and company objectives.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide critical support and ensure system reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong technologist skills with the ability to understand project hierarchies and manage ongoing projects and outages.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security methodologies and their application in live systems.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience working with Cloud solutions, with a focus on AWS specifically.
  • Proficiency in AWS Services and networking principles, including network layer topology.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites remotely and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and execution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL, MySQL, or other database management systems.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialist, or CISSP certification are highly desirable.
