About the position

The DevOps Engineer position at Dexian is a permanent role based in San Francisco, CA, aimed at supporting scripting and automation development within the AWS environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for building automation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and promoting IaC through a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. This role requires a solid understanding of AWS services, particularly Elastic Kubernetes Service, to effectively build and manage infrastructure. The DevOps Engineer will also be tasked with enhancing existing processes, such as re-hydration, to ensure efficient deployment and operation of applications. In addition to automation and infrastructure management, the DevOps Engineer will maintain and improve existing build and deployment processes across all products. Collaboration is key in this role, as the engineer will work closely with Application Developers, QA Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to establish deployment best practices. Security and reliability are paramount, and the engineer will enforce best practices across the Information Technology Services (ITS) department. The position also involves designing and deploying new application components and infrastructures, implementing and maintaining a continuous integration environment, and troubleshooting product and infrastructure issues in production environments. The engineer will write configuration scripts for automation tools, automate recurring tasks, and actively monitor and administer cloud-hosted applications while building integrations. Participation in engineering design and deployment planning is also expected, ensuring alignment between technology solutions and business strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical degree.
• Typically requires 3+ years of relevant technical or business work experience.
• General familiarity with networking, security, and automated deployments of middleware in AWS GovCloud using IaC.
