About the position

The DevOps Engineer position at Artera Technologies involves working within the Cloud and DevOps engineering teams to develop tools and methods that optimize application, software, and infrastructure resources. The role focuses on system integration activities, including the installation, configuration, and sustainment of various software tools in a Linux environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and troubleshooting skills, ensuring compliance with security requirements while providing support across contracts and the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities

• Perform system integration activities including installation, configuration, and sustainment of FOSS/COTS/GOTS software tools in a Linux environment.
• Execute and implement solutions to ensure compliance with STE/STN requirements.
• Support contract and partners with the IC community when tools support users outside NSA.
• Develop and maintain scripts using Bash/Python.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters on bare metal in a Linux environment.
• Utilize containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Monitor Linux clusters and nodes using appropriate tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline.
• 3-6 years of experience as a DevOps engineer for Level 1, 6-8 years for Level 2, and 8+ years for Level 3.
• Experience using the Linux CLI.
• Experience with scripting in Bash/Python.
• Experience with COTS/GOTS/FOSS software installation and configuration in a Linux environment.
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD principles and tools like GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Accumulo.
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
• Experience with Git Version Control System.
