About the position

The DevOps Kubernetes Engineer will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing Kubernetes and AWS EKS clusters to support scalable, secure, and high-performing environments. This role involves automating infrastructure, collaborating on CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting Kubernetes resources to ensure efficient operations in SaaS products.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee deployment, configuration, and management of Kubernetes clusters with a focus on scalability, security, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Deploy, run, and manage AWS EKS clusters, utilizing auto-scaling tools like Karpenter to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Use Terraform to manage and automate infrastructure as code, ensuring consistent and reproducible environments.
  • Collaborate with CI/CD tools like ArgoCD, FluxCD, and GitLab to automate and enhance deployment processes, supporting Kubernetes-based SaaS product releases.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes resources using kubectl and related tools, optimizing deployments, load balancers, networking, and core components for reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Kubernetes experience
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS EKS and familiarity with deploying, running, and maintaining EKS clusters including using different auto-scalers like Karpenter.
  • Proficient in kubectl commands.
  • Full understanding of different Kubernetes resources like Deployments, ReplicaSets, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, etc.
  • Comfort working with core components, services, load balancing, and networking in Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to Terraform, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Gitlab, and using Kubernetes in SaaS products is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Must possess the ability to work collaboratively in teams, while communicating thoughts, concerns, and ideas professionally.
  • Willingness to work with stakeholders to help clarify requirements and to positively influence technical direction through technical designs.
  • Ability to be flexible to changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to Terraform, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Gitlab, and using Kubernetes in SaaS products is highly desirable, but not required.
