About the position

The DevOps/Kubernetes Engineer position at TEKsystems involves working as a contractor to support DevOps and development teams in containerizing tech stacks, particularly Java, and ensuring their deployment across various environments. The role focuses on managing Openshift environments, maintaining clusters, and troubleshooting workloads, while fostering a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery culture.

Responsibilities

• Help cultivate a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery culture
• Establish an automated DevOps release management pipeline focused on enhancing ongoing production operations
• Troubleshoot delivery automation issues and find practical solutions
• Develop CI/CD specific KPIs to ensure delivery performance is tracked
• Manage multiple delivery pipelines assisting development teams while ensuring high quality solutions
• Help manage workloads across private and semi-private cloud environments
• Manage and administrate portions of network-based load balancer environments.

Requirements

• 4+ years' DevOps Engineering experience
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment, management, and security
• Experience with Jenkins or Gitlab CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with network-based load balancers
• Solid *nix based administration skills
• Experience with building and deploying containers to a production environment

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or SUSE Rancher
• Experience with cloud-based solutions
• Experience configuring and deploying telemetry with tools like Logstash, Prometheus, or Data Dog
• Proficient with a scripting language such as Bash or Python
• Ansible Automation experience
• Administrative knowledge of SSL certificate lifecycle management
