About the position

The DevOps/Python Specialist will support the integration, automation, and management of IT mid-range and network systems resources for a key government customer. This role involves operating and maintaining existing network and system architectures, providing network administration services, and developing applications to improve efficiencies through automation. The specialist will also play a technical advisory role in implementation and architecture design, ensuring the effectiveness of critical missions at home and abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and administer existing network and system architectures.
  • Provide operation and maintenance including release management, upgrades, patches, and problem reports.
  • Monitor, maintain, and report on network and systems performance.
  • Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Provide network administration services including firewall management and system administration.
  • Support enterprise firewall management and incident management/governance risk compliance engineering.
  • Provide Python programming and application development.
  • Create, test, and field applications that improve efficiencies.
  • Integrate automation solutions with Ansible and Cisco NSO.
  • Deliver, monitor, and support production applications.
  • Assist in threat detection activities across teams.

Requirements

  • Twelve (12) years of applicable experience in relevant fields.
  • High School degree + 12 years of relevant work history, or an Associate's degree + 10 years, or a Bachelor's degree + 8 years, or a Master's + 6 years, or a PhD + 2 years of work history.
  • Experience developing solutions integrating and extending COTS products.
  • Software programming skills, especially in Python.
  • Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible and Cisco NSO.
  • Familiarity with network and system performance monitoring tools.
