About the position

The DevOps Site Reliability Administrator will play a crucial role in managing and securing back-end infrastructure for a high-profile client mission. This position involves balancing operations and maintenance (O&M), Department of Defense (DoD) security and compliance, and innovation. The administrator will co-lead efforts to maintain and scale clustered environments while utilizing skills in Red Hat Linux automation and innovation, contributing to the team's success as an Innovation Leader and Technical Mentor.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, secure, and automate Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in a multi-tenant enterprise network environment.
  • Implement security and compliance frameworks, such as DoD STIGs and NIST 800-53, and develop remediation strategies in RHEL environments.
  • Utilize automation tools like Ansible and Red Hat Satellite to streamline operational tasks and maintain system compliance.
  • Build, maintain, and secure CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps principles in a Kubernetes environment.
  • Support weekly maintenance and respond to outages on a rotational basis, ensuring minimal disruption in multi-tenant operations according to Operations SLAs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with management, security, and automation of RHEL systems.
  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks, such as DoD STIGs and NIST 800-53.
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and secure CI/CD pipelines in Kubernetes environments.
  • TS/SCI clearance and relevant certifications (Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE).
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 or 8140 for IAT2 Level Certification within 60 days of start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes orchestrations, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing and configuring Kubernetes environments with tools like Rancher, Helm, and Harbor.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience managing applications in an air-gapped environment.
  • Knowledge of container networking and security best practices within Kubernetes.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
  • Kubernetes Certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
