About the position

As an Entry-Level DevOps Site Reliability Engineer at Reynolds & Reynolds, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to the continuous improvement and support of customer-facing products. Your role will involve a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our systems. You will be tasked with collecting system requirements, improving existing tools and processes through scripting and automation, and building, deploying, testing, and supporting systems in both lab environments and production data centers. This position requires close collaboration with IT, Development, and Product Management teams across the business to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on training within a team-oriented environment, guided by a mentor. You will be expected to complete daily tasks and participate in internal courses that cover common network and server technologies, as well as operations, engineering, and development responsibilities specific to our company. Additionally, you will have access to a curated library of books and instructional videos for self-paced study, allowing you to expand your knowledge and skills at your own pace. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the field of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering. You will be supported in your professional development through various training programs and resources, ensuring that you are well-equipped to contribute to our team's success.

Responsibilities

  • Collect system requirements for customer-facing products.
  • Improve existing tools and processes through scripting and automation.
  • Build, deploy, test, and support systems in lab environments and production data centers.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, Development, and Product Management teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in MIS, CIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with virtualization, scripting and automation, server hardware, and/or network communications desired.
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux server operating systems preferred.
  • Preferred programming and scripting languages include: SQL, PowerShell, Python, Bash, C/C++, C#.
  • Preferred industry standard certifications include: A+, Server+, Security+, Linux+, Network+, CCNA, MCSA.
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn and apply new skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud technologies and services.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
