About the position

NVIDIA's Quantum Computing team is searching for outstanding compiler and DevOps engineers to build the toolchain of the future. We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated engineer with expertise in building robust software frameworks, who knows compiler fundamentals, and has the capacity to turn ideas into a well designed, performant tools. You will be working closely with hardware, software and research teams across NVIDIA to create, optimize and distribute core components of our platform for programming ground breaking hybrid quantum-classical multi-processor systems. In this role, you will be solving difficult problems at the intersection of compilers, programming models, HPC and quantum computing. You will contribute to the development of the CUDA Quantum platform and its novel programming paradigms for hybrid quantum-classical computing. Additionally, you will discuss and refine software designs and implementation strategies with peers, improve processes and infrastructure to accelerate our development, and partner with architects, product managers, and application teams to enable leading quantum computing science and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Solving difficult problems at the intersection of compilers, programming models, HPC and quantum computing
  • Contributing to the development of the CUDA Quantum platform and its novel programming paradigms for hybrid quantum-classical computing
  • Discussing and refining software designs and implementation strategies with peers
  • Improving processes and infrastructure to accelerate our development
  • Partnering with architects, product managers, and application teams to enable leading quantum computing science and technology

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Physics or related engineering field or equivalent experience (Ph.D. or Masters preferred)
  • 8+ years experience working on large-scale software projects, and a proven track record of building performant and robust production software
  • Solid understanding of open-source ecosystems, compiler toolchains and programming fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop expertise in new domains and products, and eagerness to master new challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive knowledge about CI, testing and deployment infrastructures, and a passion for improving sophisticated engineering systems
  • Experience working with LLVM/MLIR
  • Expertise in parallel computer architectures and distributed systems
  • Deep understanding of programming languages and knowledge about formal verification methods
  • A background in quantum computing or quantum physics
