About the position

As a Software Engineer within the Consolidated Analysis Orchestration Services (CAOS) program, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining software that supports over 10,000 intelligence analysts and decision-makers globally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical intelligence and geospatial data management, contributing to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) mission. The CAOS program is recognized as the leading Geospatial-Intelligence program worldwide, and we are committed to evolving future automation and artificial intelligence solutions to meet the needs of our clients. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for maintaining DevSecOps pipelines in both cloud and non-cloud environments across multiple security levels. Your responsibilities will include developing, maintaining, and enhancing our release train environments, which requires a solid understanding of both engineering principles and coding practices. You will be tasked with creating and implementing systems software, analyzing data to improve existing systems, and utilizing various automation tools to develop digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines). This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about software development and are eager to contribute to mission success in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain DevSecOps pipelines in cloud and non-cloud environments.
  • Enhance release train environments to improve productivity.
  • Create and implement systems software for geospatial intelligence applications.
  • Analyze data to improve existing software systems.
  • Utilize automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Coordinate across multiple functional disciplines and contractors.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in DevSecOps processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration / continuous deployment methodologies.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple functional disciplines and locations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Linux (VM security hardening, ports and protocols, crons, ssl).
  • Experience in Puppet scripting (ruby).
  • Experience in Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with GitLab, Jenkins, Containers, Apache, Tomcat.
