About the position

GG Tech Global Inc is seeking a skilled DevOps Specialist to join our team in Irving, TX. This role is pivotal in enhancing our DevOps practices and driving innovation through automation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technological background, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to contribute effectively to our infrastructure and application support initiatives. As a DevOps Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and enabling application support while managing our production farm and various infrastructure platforms for different delivery teams. In this capacity, you will act as a subject matter expert, responsible for system architecture, designing, and building scalable and efficient infrastructure platforms. You will also establish best practices, cultivate thought leadership, and develop common practices and solutions for our infrastructure needs. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our DevOps practices are not only effective but also innovative, allowing us to stay ahead in a competitive landscape. The role requires a hands-on approach, where you will leverage your extensive experience in DevOps and cloud tools, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will be expected to manage installation, configuration, automation, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and availability management of various servers and databases. Your ability to write complex code for automation and demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills will be essential in this position. This is a contract position with a pay rate starting from $55 per hour, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, with a standard 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday. The work location is in person at our Irving, TX office.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute ideas for improvements in DevOps practices and deliver innovation through automation.
  • Design and enable application support while managing production farms and various infrastructure platforms.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in system architecture to design and build scalable and efficient infrastructure platforms.
  • Establish best practices and cultivate thought leadership in DevOps practices.
  • Develop common practices and solutions for infrastructure management.
  • Manage installation, configuration, automation, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and availability management of servers and databases.
  • Write complex code for automation of recurring tasks and OS administration.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills in network performance and other areas.
  • Design high availability and disaster recovery solutions on cloud platforms according to SLAs/RTO/RPO.

Requirements

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in DevOps with a Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology or a Master's in Engineering/Computer Applications.
  • Expertise in DevOps and cloud tools including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, GitLab, and GitHub.
  • Experience with container infrastructure tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, ARM, and Cloud Formation.
  • Experience with build tools like Ant, Maven, Make, and Gradle.
  • Familiarity with artifact repositories such as Nexus and JFrog Artifactory.
  • Experience with CI tools on-premise/cloud like Jenkins and TeamCity.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and security tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, and Splunk.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Ant, Bash, and Shell.
  • Hands-on experience in designing pipelines and pipeline as code.
  • Experience in end-to-end deployment processes and strategies.
  • Good exposure to tools and technologies for building container-based infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP/AWS/Azure for creating network subnets and launching instances.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with virtualization platforms like Denodo and Dremio.
  • Knowledge of MDM platforms.
  • Familiarity with load balancing options provided by multiple cloud vendors.
  • Good knowledge of network algorithms for failover and availability.
  • Experience with migration tools available with cloud vendors.
