About the position

The DevOps/System Engineer at ManTech International is responsible for maintaining data files and control procedures for networked computers, ensuring system security and data integrity, and managing user access. This role involves analyzing user needs, developing system requirements, and guiding system development while interacting with government entities to resolve issues. The position requires a specialized depth of expertise in systems engineering and problem-solving to identify innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs, concept of operations, and architectures to develop system requirements.
• Analyze system requirements, evaluate alternative designs, and conduct feasibility studies.
• Develop technical documentation.
• Guide system development and planning and prepare system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
• Interact with the Government regarding problems, issues or conflicts.
• Support verification and monitor the technical quality.

Requirements

• Systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience with Puppet/Ansible.
• Experience with Bash/Python/Ruby.
• Experience with Git/GitLab.
• Experience with RPM Packaging (spec).
• Experience with VMware/KVM.
• Infrastructure/Hardware Knowledge.
• Networking experience.
• Experience with Docker/Podman.
• Familiarity with structured data such as JSON/YAML/XML.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in architecting, deploying and general administration of Splunk.
• Cloud experience.
