About the position

The DevOps Systems Engineer Level 4 or 5 position is focused on developing and managing CI/CD build and deployment pipelines within a diverse team in Herndon, VA. The role involves integrating various tools into the DevOps process, troubleshooting integration issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of services in both on-prem and cloud environments. Candidates must possess a strong background in cyber systems engineering and be prepared to work in a DevSecOps environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop CI/CD build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins and Terraform.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues across on-prem, OpenShift, and AWS environments.
• Document key features for developer use and maintain scripts for process improvements.
• Integrate new microservices into the pipeline and assist in troubleshooting.
• Automate installations of COTS products into the architecture.
• Monitor services and develop scripts to ensure functionality.
• Integrate various DevOps tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Jenkins, and Robot Framework.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience or a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience for Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree with 14 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 12 years of relevant experience or a PhD with 9 years of relevant experience for Staff Cyber Systems Engineer.
• Experience with Linux environments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• Experience with OpenShift or similar container environments.
• Familiarity with Git for source control.
• Understanding of Kubernetes or OpenShift Container Platform.
• Willingness to work in a DevSecOps environment with an Infrastructure as Code mindset.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic understanding of an Object-Oriented Programming Language, such as Java.
• Experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting software solutions.
• Experience integrating Jenkins and Docker for automated CI/CD pipelines.
