About the position

The DevSecOps Architect role focuses on designing, deploying, and managing mission command systems across various security levels (IL3, IL5, IL6), with an emphasis on high availability Kubernetes clusters in secure environments. The position requires expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and security compliance, particularly within the Department of Defense (DoD) framework.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy mission command systems on various ILs (IL3, IL5, IL6) with a priority on IL6 SIPR.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and security compliance in air-gapped environments.
• Utilize infrastructure as code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform and Ansible for automation and deployment.
• Collaborate with teams to implement security controls as per NIST and DoD guidelines.
• Provide support for deploying microservices on IL2, IL5, IL6, and IL7 environments.

Requirements

• Kubernetes related certifications (CKA, CKAD).
• Intensive experience in cloud architecture design and automation.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and automation tools like Ansible.
• Experience with EKS, AKS, RKE2, and other Kubernetes distributions.
• Linux Red Hat system administration experience.
• Relevant direct experience related to DevSecOps.
• Minimum security clearance of secret level required; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

• Direct experience deploying microservices on IL2, IL5, IL6, and IL7.
• Familiarity with NIST and DoD specific security controls.
• Experience managing Kubernetes RKE2 or other Kubernetes flavors in air-gapped environments.
