About the position

The DevSecOps Architect at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing DevSecOps infrastructure environments to support critical national defense programs, specifically the Sentinel Program for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) under the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance software capability development and systems engineering analyses while also leading internal strategic initiatives to position MTSI as a leader in DevSecOps services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage DevSecOps infrastructure environments.
  • Support DevSecOps pipeline architecture and development for software capability development.
  • Lead engineering and IT processes including DevSecOps, Requirements Management, and Cybersecurity.
  • Define and maintain configuration for application deployments and pipelines.
  • Implement alterations for NIST and DISA requirements for multi-level security environments.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Security, and Operations teams to deliver products.
  • Champion Agile development processes and modern DevSecOps workflows.
  • Ensure security best practices are integrated into CI/CD processes.
  • Identify and mitigate technological or process-related risks.
  • Manage development environments and cloud-based services, enhancing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Document maintenance and bug fixes for environmental resources and application deployments.
  • Diagnose and resolve production incidents efficiently.
  • Communicate complex IT solutions to both technical and non-technical employees.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Architect or related role.
  • 3+ years of experience in DoD enterprise IT programs and systems engineering.
  • Certifications in security (CISSP, CISM, CISA) are advantageous.
  • Expertise in container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and writing pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of DevOps technologies, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Multi-Level Security ATO and C-ATO processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, FluxCD.
  • Understanding of modern programming languages (C++, Python, Java).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related fields.
  • Active security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud technology services.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices.
